Immunisation

The City of Ballarat immunisation service aims to ensure the health and wellbeing of every resident in our community by reducing the incidence of vaccine preventable disease.

Qualified Nurse Immunisers provide the complete schedule of vaccines on the National Immunisation Program to the community. These are offered in several locations across Ballarat at regular intervals. This service is flexible with a mix of drop-in and appointment services in the City of Ballarat

PLEASE NOTE : The City of Ballarat does not provide advice or vaccinations for travel purposes. For information and advice about travel vaccinations contact the Travel Medicine Clinic (10 Drummond St Sth) or the Federation University's Health Centre

Immunisation RecordsTop of document.

Immunisation records for vaccinations provided by the City of Ballarat Immunisation Service are available. These statements do not include immunisations carried out by other health provider’s e.g. local doctor or Community Health Centre.

The School Entry Immunisation Certificate & Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR)

The Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR) is in the process of transitioning to the new and expanded Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).

The AIR will provide a national database that keeps a record of all vaccines given to children up to the age of 20 years. It is the responsibility of immunisation providers to report vaccines administered to AIR. A history statement of a child's immunisation status is automatically posted to the family address (as registered with Medicare) at one, two and five years of age.

The AIR mails a school entry certificate to parents on completion of four-year-old vaccines.  If a child's immunisation records are incomplete or missing, call the City of Ballarat immunisation service at+61 3 5320 5720.

For information about the AIR, visit the Department of Human Services
